Welcome to Heritage City Walk

This walk, offered by us, is a comprehensive walk of the Heritage City of Varanasi.

The walk starts from the southernmost embankment of the Ganga River, passing through holy Ponds and sacred temples, leading to the landscape of the mystical 16th Century Poet Pundit Goswami Tulsidas, a translator of the holy Hindu epic RAMAYAN. A visit to a sacred well, where the water is believed to have powers to treat fertility. The walk continues through the courtyards of Muslim Silk Weavers, hand-weaving the beautiful and detailed Silks for centuries, in their old age homes. The walk continues on to the Bengali Tola, a suburb of the Bengali community, leading you to see some of the fascinatingly unique features of life in Varanasi.

Our walk will take you to the northern part through narrow and puzzling Alleyways, where most tourists feel mesmerized to pass through 5 feet wide ancient Alleyways, and the best way to see these is to go and get lost in them. We will take you through the city of Light, the cosmic center of Kashi (the spiritual name of Varanasi), the Lord Vishwanath Temple (Golden Temple), believed to hold the first Jyotirlingas (Sacred Light of Life) of the universe. Winding through fascinating, colorful, and buzzing markets and shops, you will visit Manikarnika Ghat, known as MAHASHAMSHAN, where cremations are ongoing 24 hours a day, making it a place to learn about life and death. Here you will know the contribution of the philosophy of Varanasi to the life of Indian spiritual culture, and why even death is celebrated in Varanasi. In the end, you will visit the old magnificent Mosque on the river, built by the Mughals.

The walk takes 4-5 hours and can start anytime from 8:00 to 14:00. If you have any specific time preference, do let us know, and we will do our best to adjust the timings. Cost is Rs 3000 for 1 person, Rs 2000 per person (up to 02 Persons) Rs 1600 per person (3-4 persons), and Rs 1400 per person (5 or more persons). You will need to carry your Passport with you, for entry into the Golden Temple of Lord Vishwanath. Charges to enter the Golden Temple are not included in the cost as this is optional in this tour to go to Vishwanath Temple.
