Ramnagar Fort Boat Tour
Maharajas of Varanasi have always lived in the outer area of the city and had ruled Banaras from the Ramnagar Fort, a Sandstone palace built in 1750 by the then Kashi Naresh Maharaja Balwant Singh, which is situated at the eastern bank of the river Ganga. Ramlila of Ramnagar is world famous. The fort palace appears very vibrant and colorful when it is beatified during the one-month-long ‘Ram Leela’ festival, wherein the story of the epic ‘Ramayana’ is enacted.
This boat tour starts from Southern embankment of the river and takes you to the fort for a visit to the Museum and a stroll around the fort, conversation with the locals and the fisherman, and a visit to the centuries old temple and a glimpse of the rural life of Varanasi.
